Drafted: August 25, 2021

Your privacy is important to AIN. We developed this Privacy Policy to provide you with information concerning personal data collection and usage, as well as our privacy and security practices when you visit our sites or otherwise provide us with personal data.

“Personal data” is information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular member or household. “You” and “your” refer to specifically refers to the person reading this Privacy Policy, which may include AIN members and other individuals visiting our site.

Browsing AIN’s Websites

When subscribing for updates, joining the network, purchasing products, or registering for events, the AIN collects personally identifiable information to help us provide you with the best possible service. The information collected depends on the form you take but typically includes, name, email, phone number, and mailing address. This data may be used to determine if a particular applied improvisation product may be of interest to you based, for example, on your geographical location, affiliation, or stated interest. AIN board members and designated staff have access to this data.
At any time, you have the right to access and update your information and communication preferences by logging in to your AIN profile or by contacting AIN at [email protected]. You may also, at any time, request that the AIN delete your information from our records.

Use of Personally Identifiable Information for AIN Members

AIN members maintain a special relationship with the network and with other members. Personally identifiable information submitted through the membership application or renewal forms is shared with all other AIN members in AIN’s online member directory for the purposes of networking. Members can view each other’s personally identifiable information including name, title, department, organization, city, state, country, best phone and email, websites, photo, special interests, and bio.
Furthermore, when a membership application or renewal is submitted, members are also automatically subscribed to AIN’s online member community discussion lists.
At any time, if a member wishes to limit the information other AIN members can see about them, they may log in to their directory profile and click on the “My Account” tab to access “Privacy Settings.” From there they may choose what, if any, information is displayed and to whom. Members may also change their subscription settings from their profile page or unsubscribe from member community emails via links easily available on each email they receive.

Deletion of Personally Identifiable Information
Each year AIN audits its contact database and purges personally identifiable information of people we have not had contact with for more than two years. By contact, we mean that the person has not submitted a form, updated their profile, or otherwise confirmed that they wish to continue receiving information from us.

Outside Data Storage and Credit Card Processing
The AIN does not store your payment information. We contract out with Payroc LLC and MemberClicks to capture and process all credit card payments for our membership and events. Furthermore, we contract out with MemberClicks to store personally identifiable data for members and business contacts. These companies have their own privacy and security policies, which we encourage you to review.

Privacy Policy Updates
We have tried to create a privacy policy that is comprehensive, readable, and durable. Despite our best efforts, we may find it necessary to revise it. We will post any privacy policy changes on this page and, if the changes are significant, we will provide a more prominent notice by sending you an email notification. The current AIN privacy policy will continue to be posted at this address. If you have questions or comments about our privacy policy, please contact us at [email protected]
